Founder and President

Dr. Onuora Odoh

Onuora Odoh is a practicing physician in British Columbia Canada. He is a specialist in primary care and has a wealth of experience in rural health care. Onuora has a great passion for rural medicine and strongly promotes equality in healthcare and the practice of preventive medicine.

He is actively involved in developing and implementing innovative and effective primary health care and research programs. Through his incredible achievements in medical practice, Onuora has won several medical awards and has continued to play key leadership roles in the medical community. He is a researcher and a Clinical Instructor at the Faculty of Medicine, University of British Columbia, Canada.

Chronic Disease

Sean Harrigan

Sean is an Epidemiologist working at the BC and UBC Centres for Disease Control. His current work focuses on the severity of COVID-19 variants. Sean graduated from the University of British Columbia, Master’s of Population and Public Health, where his research was concentrated on cancer epidemiology, specifically related to the built environment.

Chronic Disease

James Naude

James completed his Bachelors in Neurosciences at the University of Calgary and is currently a medical student at the University of British Columbia. James has been involved with the Oasis Community Health Foundation for the past two years and seeks to improve access to primary care in rural communities. He is interested in the chronic disease aspect of the project, and helped design infographics that patients can refer during clinic visits.

Maternal Health

JACQUELINE HOLOTKA

Jacqueline is currently a Family Medicine resident at the University of Toronto. She is passionate about community outreach, patient advocacy, and addressing social determinants of health. She also has a special interest in low-risk obstetrics and have been a part of the organization’s Maternal Health team with the goal of improving health outcomes and health literacy of expecting mothers within the community. She is fortunate to be able to train in a country where prenatal care is accessible and want to help make this possible in Amechi Uwani with the support of our dedicated team members.

Pharmacotherapy

Solomon Chow

Solomon is a Clinical Pharmacist at Vancouver General Hospital and an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia, Canada, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences. His interests lie in infectious diseases, rural medicine, and appropriate drug utilization. He is also an advocate for novel clinical services after spending time in rural communities across British Columbia. At Oasis Community Health Foundation, Solomon actively reviews the drug formulary and provides education for patients and prescribers.

Electronic Medical Record Support

Denise Cerqueira-Pages

Denise completed her Masters degree in Immunology at the Oswaldo Cruz Institute in Rio de Janeiro and worked as an immunologist researcher at the Erasmus University in the Netherlands. Since 2014, she has been working at Haida Gwaii Hospital and Health Centre in the practice support program – providing support to physicians, conducting quality assurance projects to improve patient care and physician experiences.

IFEYINWA DIM

Ifeyinwa holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Education, from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
Having started her early career with The Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria (PPFN), a non-profit health organization as an Assistant Program Officer, before joining the Nigerian educational sector where she has been educating communities and school children in Nigeria.
She is coming with a wealth of practical experience as one of the founding members of Oasis Community Health Foundation and has been with foundation since inception.
Ifeyinwa is passionate about promoting health and wellness education to school children and communities through planning and implementing health programs that promote disease prevention and management.
